"Do Not Tarry" a Poem of Encouragement and Purpose

DO NOT TARRY

by Debra Ayis

Young man

Oh man of youth

Serve the Lord

While strength may be found

Wait not

Till thy eyes grow weary

Do not tarry

Till your limbs give way

Love the Lord

With all your heart and might

Do not give in to the tempter

Live not a life to regret

That you might reminisce and be proud

Glad that you served him well

Now that your strength may be found

Live not a life of vanity

But that of a soldier’s existence

Worthy of a medal made of gold

That when you see your mansion true

You will be glad you served the Lord

Follow me
